What is an Academy...
Academies are new forms
of inclusive secondary schools designed
to meet the needs of students in the 21st
Century. The Academies programme is a
major component of the Government’s
education reform agenda and encourages
sponsors from the private, public and
not-for-profit sectors to establish new
all-ability schools where operating
costs are met directly by the
Government. Each Academy will have a
Board of Governors with local
stakeholder representation. They
represent a new option to help raise
achievement in areas of historic
underperformance.
Currently Edutrust is
actively engaged in the following areas:
-
Bradford
-
Lincolnshire
-
Birmingham
-
Brent
-
Sheffield
-
Leeds
-
Oldham
